When is a 92% increase in revenue not enough to awaken investors? When that stock has already gained 168% since the beginning of 2007, is when.

Bruce Zaro, chief technical strategist at Delta Global Advisors in Huntington Beach, Calif., said the reaction may reflect investor insecurity about the macroeconomic environment. While investors seem to have come to grips with poor results from financial stocks (witness Merrill Lynch & Co.’s 4% rally on earnings Thursday) they may not be ready to embrace shares that have performed well as the economy heads into a period of below-trend growth.
